ACUPUNCTURE

In traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is linked to the belief that disease is caused by disruptions to the flow of energy, or qi, in the body. When this energy becomes stagnant or deficient imbalances and disease arise in the body. Acupuncture stimulates points under the skin releasing this qi. The qi then travels through channels called meridians, encouraging the body back to health.

Acupuncture is successful in treating a range of imbalances in the body, including:
 Anxiety
 Depression
 Stress
 Muscle injuries and spasms
 Digestive disorders
 Supports fertility and IVF
 Pregnancy Support
 Chronic pain
 Osteoarthritis
 Headaches and migraines
WHAT TO EXPECT IN A TREATMENT
The first consultation takes approximately 75 minutes and will consist of an in-dept evaluation of the presenting condition and a full medical history.
An examination of the tongue and the pulse will be carried out and a brief physical examination, where necessary.
Once a diagnosis is made the practitioner will choose the most suitable meridians and acupuncture points to needle.
When the needles are inserted and the patient is comfortable they may rest or sleep for 20 minutes.
After the needles are removed the patient will have time to discuss how the treatment felt.
