Why is Reflexology and Massage so good for babies?
Reflexology and Massage are wonderful ways to promote wellness in adults and children.
They help promote a sense of relaxation and security, treat physical ailments and of course, build those crucial parent/infant bonds.
The gentle touch of a parent plays a crucial part in making a baby feel secure and loved as they begin life’s journey, and using massage as part of daily routine provides this in a way that is great fun for both parent and baby.
Baby Reflexology is a natural and completely safe massage technique that works by massaging reflex points on the feet that correspond to particular organs, body systems, and muscles in the baby’s body.
Our Baby Wellness Class offers parents some extra tools to soothe and comfort their child when they are unwell or out of sorts, it also helps promote general health and wellness.
During this course a Reflexology and Massage routine will be taught to assist with normal baby issues such as:
- Trouble sleeping
- Colic
- Reflux
- Digestive issues
- Respiratory issues such as asthma or coughs and colds
- Teething pain
Our aim is to provide you with a skill set that can be used throughout the development of your child and will help you ease the common discomforts of infancy and childhood.
About the class:
As there is a small window when baby reflexology and/or massage should be practiced on a baby (to be explained in 1st class) the routines are demonstrated on a model baby foot specifically used for baby reflexology and a baby doll.
For this reason, it is not necessary that the baby attend the class, however babies are of course more than welcome.
Handouts will be provided after each class to the parents for them to refer to when practicing at home. Parents will also be sent a video of the sequences taught to help them practice between classes.
Class format:
Our classes are in-person classes. They are suitable for pre-crawlers. Held over 5 consecutive Thursdays 10.00am to 11.00am
